Japanese Strawberry Shortcake

I have been wanting to make this cake for so so long... I'll get excited whenever I see strawberries, start buying them with the thought of using them up for a lovely Japanese strawberry cake, and end up eating them up in fear they'll get rotten =_=

But! TODAY! I made it! I actually was not planning to do this AT ALL... I guess fate must've finally brought strawberry cake and me together <3

Taste wise, I'm not that excited about it to be honest... It's a little dry and eggy in my opinion. Then again, I did miss out spritzing the cake with the simple syrup... -_-
